conservation programs.

"Namibia was an excellent country for an initial visit to Africa, with enough varied topography and animals that you could easily come back many times before absorbing
it all."

   Kathleen

"Never having stayed in a tent before, camping in an area as remote and unpopulated as the Khaudom was the highlight of the trip. Going for the majority of a week with no other people around reinforced the sense of being part of Africa rather than simply observing it. The seclusion created a sense of intimacy among our group, making every evening special."

"This was the best trip I have ever taken in more than 20 years of travel.  The excitement and energy from constant discovery made it exotic, while the structure made it comfortable.  Every day offered something new to challenge my biases and preconceptions.  After 2 weeks of ever changing variety and depth of experiences, I am more awestruck than ever about the beautiful, fragile complexity of life on earth."
   John H.

"Khaudom dinners were special. 4 straight social events (3 hours +) with cocktails, great "home made" dinners, and after-dinner dessert and drinks that made you feel like 4 Friday nights with friends."
   Hugo

"Although there was not a myriad of wildlife to be seen, western Etosha offers a different and interesting landscape, one which I was eager to see.  Staying at Kavita was not only a lovely and relaxing experience, but I think it is important for visitors, who have come because of their fascination with African wildlife, to see what concerned and dedicated Namibians are doing to improve wildlife conservation in their country."
   Harriette

"The trip was organized in detail focusing on guest comfort. The guides were social, informative, and attentive. Food was the best available, whether local and traditional, or prepared to order. Eating under all the conditions was fun and an important part of the experience. The safari accommodations were intriguingly varied, sometimes exotic and plush, but always at a level of comfort beyond our expectations as tourists. Heinitzburg Castle was exquisite and a world class treat on our last day and night."

Johannesburg International Airport Holiday Inn:

The hotel is located just a 3-minute courtesy van from Johannesburg International airport terminal and provides quality accommodations and friendly service.  This is a modern hotel with all the major conveniences including concierge services, restaurant, bar, gift shop,  news stand, and indoors pool.

All meals are served buffet style in the main dining room, and the breakfast buffet is especially good.

Khorab Safari Lodge:

Your hosts offer personalized service and warm Namibian hospitality, starting with welcome cocktails upon your arrival.  Accommodations consist of 10 unique African-style bungalows with private baths and verandahs overlooking the landscaped gardens.

The excellent dinner menu includes local game meats, vegetarian dishes, and mouthwatering desserts.  The menu features a wide selection of South African Cape wines.  The Lodge offers a delicious full breakfast before your morning departure.

Sikareti Camp in the
 Khaudom Game Park:

Camping out for three nights in the Khaudom wilderness doesn’t have to mean roughing it! Private three-person tents for each couple or single safari guest, deluxe air mattresses, and seasonally appropriate sleeping bags make for a comfortable yet real camping experience.  All the campsites in Sikareti Camp have access to rustic blockhouse facilities containing toilets, sinks, and showers.

All meals in the Khaudom are prepared by your tour guides, and they do a great job!  Wake to hot coffee and breakfast, which can include a German-style selection of breads, meats, and cheeses, as well as pancakes and omelets to order.  Lunch is served in the bush during the game drives, and consists of salads, sandwiches, and snacks.  Relax by the campfire after "sundowners" while a delicious dinner is prepared by your guides.

The Tsumkwe Lodge:

The Tsumkwe Lodge offers fairly basic cabins and surprisingly good family-style food.  It is not posh, but has the best accommodations within two hundred miles of the Khaudom Park and Nyae Nyae Conservancy, where the Ju/'Hoan (Bushman or !Kung San) village is located.

Etosha National Park:  Mushara Lodge

Mushara Lodge, located 8 kms from the eastern entrance of the Etosha National Park, has 10 widely-spaced bungalows equipped with air conditioning, telephone, safe, mini bar and ensuite bathrooms. A lavish buffet-style breakfast and excellent dinner complemented by a quality wine list is served in their dining room.  Mushara Lodge opened in 1998, making it one of the newest resorts in Namibia, and its facilities have been very well-maintained.

Etosha National Park:  Okaukeujo Camp

Okaukeujo Camp in the central Etosha region is justifiably famous for nighttime sightings at its waterhole of black rhino and elephants.  The 2- bed and 4-bed bungalows are similar to those in Namutoni Camp, and Okaukeujo also has a similar restaurant serving the same types and quality of food.  Other amenities include indoor and outdoor bars and a shopping kiosk.  There are diverse animals at the Okaukeujo waterhole nearly every hour of the day and night.  So take your after-dinner drinks, binoculars, and jacket, and settle in to enjoy the show!

Kavita Lion Lodge:

Kavita Lion Lodge is located on a large private game ranch just to the south of Etosha Park's western entrance.  Enjoy the hospitality and warmth of your hosts, Tammy and Uwe Hoth, and let them show you the wildlife and scenery at Kavita.  The accommodations consist of very attractive thatched-roof chalets overlooking a waterhole.   Kavita is also the home of the Afri-Leo Foundation and a sanctuary for lions unable to survive in the wild.

The excellent cuisine at Kavita Lion Lodge is European style, using fresh, local ingredients.  The Lodge serves delicious pastries and teas every afternoon.

Okonjima Resort:

Okonjima is a private game ranch and luxurious resort that also is a rehabilitation center and sanctuary for African big cats.  Every year it is  chosen one of the leading resorts in Namibia. The accommodations are in individual chalets tucked away in the bush for privacy, or in a lovely setting with rooms surrounding a beautiful courtyard and garden area.  Okonjima offers a wide range of activities including up-close cheetah, lion, and leopard sitings, guided walks, game drives, and after-dinner viewing of nocturnal animals from a special game hide.

Dining at Okonjima is family style, and includes a filling breakfast, afternoon tea with pastries, and a gourmet dinner.

Hotel Castle Heinitzburg:

The Hotel Castle Heinitzburg sits high on a bluff overlooking Windhoek, the capital of Namibia.  The Castle was built by a German aristocrat in 1914 and was used for various purposes before it was converted into Namibia's highest-rated hotel.

You will enjoy a memorable dinner in Leo's at the Castle, the highest-rated restaurant in Namibia with the largest private wine cellar.

Your safari includes all  meals and occasional snacks.  Most dietary preferences, including fully vegetarian, can be satisfied even while we are camping in the Khaudom wilderness.
We provide wine, beer, mineral water, and the non-alcoholic beverages of your choice during the safari.
